Certified Athletic Therapists are best known for their quick-thinking, on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. The first to respond when someone gets hurt, they are experts at injury assessment and rehabilitation. It’s that same mix of on-site care and active rehabilitation skills that makes Athletic Therapists so effective in treating the musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries of all Canadians, whether on the field or in the clinic.

Athletic therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist's goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.

Body Design makes me accountable to myself, in ways that are life giving. If I wasn't doing this, my health would be poor, my emotional health would probably be poorer. It helps me just to be me and to feel a hundred percent me and that I'm doing everything I can to be the best that I can.

  • Oumar

I was able to learn a great deal...different techniques for working out without injuring myself...I also sleep better at night. I think I am physically in much better condition than when I started.

  • Linda

I could barely get through one class. But the teacher just kept encouraging "keep coming, keep coming, don't quit". And I did, and now it's amazing. Now I'm encouraging people to continue and don't quit.

  • Karen

I felt the class really changed my day to day lifestyle. Even just doing one class a week, I found that I was eating better and making the effort to, in between classes, do something to stay active.

  • Lauren

For the last class I took, I chose to gear up for my wedding...the trainer was very good about checking in with me and keeping me on point and it made a huge difference. My sister, the day after the wedding, was like "your back and shoulders looked good".

  • Marie

Seeing as I'm a very busy individual, my schedule is kind of all over the map, so having the classes being offered in the evening and with the policy that they have like if you miss a clasas, you can catch up on another class!

  • Gina

They know me as an individual, and not only that, the workouts are not boring. Each time I come here, I don't know what to expect, so it's challenging, it's different and it's interesting.

  • Larry

What I like about Body Design is they don't just help you during the session. It's a lifestyle change so they're talking about your dietary changes, about fitness that you can take on the road, fitness you can at home and also food you should be taking in and food you should not be taking in.

  • Judy

I have 2 different trainers; 2 different mindsets of how things are. But they are both absolutely fantastic, they encourage, they challenge...oh my do they ever challenge! I do things that I never ever thought I'd be able to do and it's all part and parcel of the way they do it. It's just a great experience.
